1. The Cayman Islands Orchid ShowQueen Elizabeth II Botanic Park

What better way to celebrate the spring season than with an entire weekend dedicated to flowers! The Cayman Islands Orchid Show takes place at Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park in March. Take in the beauty of locally grown orchids and admire nature in full bloom. 

2. Cayfest

If you appreciate local art and culture, then you won’t want to miss out on Cayfest! Cayman National Cultural Foundation celebrates all things creative with three events that make up the festival, National Arts and Culture Awards, Dress For Culture Day, and Red Sky at Night Festival. You will encounter displays of visual arts, music, theatre, film, fashion design, and even cultural discussions. The events typically happen in February and March.

3. Carnival Batabano 

Vivacious, vibrant, and fun, the Annual Carnival Batabano is not something you won’t want to miss. This Mardi Gras-like affair features everything from soca music and calypso bands to colorful costumes and dancing. There is even a float parade! The celebration happens each year in May.

4. Flowers Sea Swim

Is swimming your passion? Compete in the Flowers Sea Swim this June! Not only is this swimming competition set in paradise, but it is also for a good cause. All proceeds from the event go to the Special Olympics Cayman Islands. Everyone is welcome; you’ll see everyone from children to Olympians competing. If swimming doesn’t appeal to you, you can participate in The Ms. Penny Walk & Watch. Support the cause from the sidelines as you cheer on the swimmers! Participants of the races and the Walk & Watch are all eligible for a variety of prizes. In the past, awards have included cash, iPads, hotel stays, and airline tickets.

5. Cayman Cookout

Cayman Cookout celebrates food and wine on Grand Cayman each year for one weekend in January. Acclaimed chef Eric Ripert of Blue by Eric Ripert hosts a long weekend of extraordinary culinary events. You’ll be able to see cooking demonstrations by some of the world’s most talented chefs, indulge in group dinners, and more.

6. Taste of Cayman

Taste of Cayman is our island’s annual food and drink festival. Thousands of locals and visitors gather together to celebrate our island’s cuisine each April. Dozens of Cayman’s best restaurants promote a wide variety of dishes to festival-goers, and the number grows every year!

7. Events at Camana Bay

Camana Bay is a hub on Seven Mile Beach for events, shopping, and dining. There is also something going on in this area from Farmers’ Markets to live music. A local favorite is Summer Moonlight & Movies! Every Tuesday throughout July and August, movies are screened under the stars starting at 7:00 p.m. at Camana Bay. 8. Salsa Nights at the Wharf 

Dance the night away at Salsa Nights every Tuesday from 9:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. at The Wharf Restaurant & Bar. This is a recurring event, but they do sometimes take breaks. Be sure to check The Wharf’s website to know for sure if they are hosting the fun event.
